I Like Free Stuff and I Cannot Lie

I'm sure you do too.  But what I hate is free JUNK!  When you get something for free, it's generally because it's pretty worthless.  Well, not in this case. (No pun intended.)
A major part of my business is referrals. I want you to have a great session with Lil' Peach Photography.  I want you to be in love with your images.  And I want you to be so excited about your experience that you can't wait to share it with your friends, family, and complete strangers in the grocery store!  I appreciate this word-of-mouth buzz so much that I want to give you a gift just to say thank you.  So for every person you refer to Lil' Peach Photography who books and completes a session, you will receive a FREE customized iPhone case.  You can choose from a Capsule Case for the 3G/3Gs model or a Deflector Case for the 4 model.  The cases are high quality, easy to use, protect your phone, and show off a beautiful image of your family.  Keep one for yourself (or two or three), or send them to family.

What's that? You don't have an iPhone? Well how about a case for your iPod Touch.

...or maybe you'd prefer a skin for your laptop...

And of course there is always the choice of a free 8x10 mounted fine art print.  So many options of FREE stuff that actually rocks.  Get to chit-chatting and spread the word about Lil' Peach Photography so I can start designing your presents!

*One item per referral that books and completes a session. Limit of 4.  All items also available for purchase - contact me at lilpeachphotography@gmail.com for prices.

Kaiden & Ava's Sneak Peek

I had planned for a day of rain, umbrellas, and puddle-jumping, but when I got to the location of the A. Family's session it was all blue skies.  I was definitely thrown a curveball.  Upon arriving, Kaiden was quiet and Miss Ava was not too pleased, surely wondering who this weird stranger with the camera was.  So we broke the ice with a game of throwing rocks into the water, and soon the unexpected sunshine was matched by the brightness of their smiles.

C'est Fini + Rylen's Sneak Peek

The studio is finally FINISHED!  It will still be quite some time before it's all set up and ready for a grand opening, but I'm so happy just to have it done!  I spenty the morning cleaning, with the help of my wonderful mother.  Some great friends went all the way to Capitol Hill to pick up furniture for me.  Unfortunately I don't know if it's going to work out, but I sure was thankful I had it today. *(A BIG thank you to everyone who helped me today: Mom, Joe, Thomas, and Makenzie!)*

Handsome little Rylen stopped by today to be my very first mini model in my brand new studio.  Thankfully, his family was very understanding of my fairly empty new space.  Rylen was just born on the 9th, and was pretty awake for a good part of our session though his family swore this wasn't usually the case.  If there's one thing you can count on with babies, it's unpredictability!  Congratulations to the K Family on their sweet and adorable baby boy!

The Millers' Sneak Peek - Part 2

Miss Presley was a trooper through our session, but what pretty girl doesn't like having her picture taken?  Her mom and dad have had no luck keeping her on a schedule, she's going to be a tough cookie when she grows up, so keeping her asleep was no easy task.  Luckily she's absolutely adorable whether she's sleeping or wide awake.  So we ordered a pizza and made an afternoon of it.  What an angel!

The Millers' Sneak Peek - Part 1

Clearly I'm the worst blogger ever.  I'm definitely not keeping up with this the way that I should be.  Life starts happening and there's definitely a learning curve to juggling it all.  My hat is off to those of you that have lives with kids, significant others, jobs, pets, dirty dishes... etc. and still find the time to update regularly.
Every now and then friends ask me to do pictures for them, and luckily they're very understanding when their Sneak Peek isn't up on the blog in just a couple days like it should be.  But every once in a while even they have to say, "So... my kid's five - are you done with my maternity shoot yet?" Well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but really they've been waiting patiently for a while.  So, THANK YOU Miller family for being so understanding.

Imani & Noble's Sneak Peek

I don't think I've ever met a pair of girls as sweet and well-behaved as Imani & Noble.  Imani told me all about her dream of having a horse one day.  She had 1000 poses up her sleeve, and she went from smiling to not like a professional actress.  Noble waited so patiently while her big sister was in the spotlight then she hopped in with an infectious smile when it was her turn.  I seriously could have taken pictures of these girls all day long, but after 2 hours I knew they were hungry and probably ready to go home.  They were such a delight - smart, impeccable manners, and helloooo do you see how beautiful they are?! What a great shoot.

Thank Heaven For Little Girls

My daughter is the light of my life!  She's 15 months.  The teeth are coming in one after another.  She can climb anything and everything.  She sings, dances, and yells at me if I take something from her.  She makes me laugh more times a day than I can count, and her sweetness makes me tear up at least once a week.  I only wish there were more moments in the day when I could just sit quietly and watch her be... her.

Nessa's Sneak Peek

"The camera loves me." Nessa proudly proclaimed during our shoot, and boy was she right! We took a great walk through an eastside neighborhood of Seattle as the afternoon warmed up.  Nessa breezed through our session like a pro.  This girl has amazing confidence, and by looking at the pictures you can see why!

Kai's Sneak Peek

Kai was definitely a trooper through our mini-session.  It had been a long day already of lunch at The Crab Pot, walking the pier, then up to Pike Place Market all with a mom, a friend, a baby, a photog, and two sugar gliders in tow.  I sure love this little boy!

Hometown Tourist

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of my best friends and her son will be arriving from sunny LA tomorrow.  I've been trying to find all the best things to do in Tacoma and Seattle to keep us busy while they're here.  Seattle aquarium, science center, children's museum...  It made me realize how many things there are that I could be out doing.  There are so many places within 45 minutes of my home that I've never been to.
It's been so many years since I've walked around downtown Seattle and gone into a new restaurant I've never tried before.  It's just easier now to go to Red Robin where I know the child seats are clean, it's no big deal if Lila gets messy or fussy, and she'll like the grilled cheese and cantaloupe.  There are a zillion reasons I miss living in the San Fernando Valley, but a huge one is that after being born and raised in Tacoma, WA, everything there was new and exciting.  Turns out all I really need to do is take a new street, a new exit off the freeway, try a new restaurant, go into that boutique that I've driven past a thousand times...  I need a little more tourism in my life!

Jordyn's Sneak Peek

I drove up to Seattle today a bit worried about the looming clouds, but it seemed like the second I hopped on the off-ramp, out came the sun.  Thank goodness it did because I would have been uber-bummed if today's shoot had been rained out.  The man of the day was Jordyn - hands down the coolest kid ever!  He's definitely a natural at modeling, not to mention funny and sweet as sugar (in a tough guy kind of way, of course).  I can't wait to do photos with him again.  Thanks for the great session, Jordy!

Perfectionism

I've finally gotten this blog up.  I've been procrastinating for so long because I wanted it to be perfect.  The blog host, the images, the design... all had to be just right before anyone could see it.  Well it turns out that you miss out on a whole lot waiting for things to be perfect.

Anyone who knows me knows that Lil' Peach Photography is brand new.  My business license is brand new, my websites are brand new, and when the studio is finally finished, it will be brand new also.  So why pretend that I've had a blog forever?  The blog is new, and no, it's not just the way I'd like it to be, but we all start somewhere.  And truthfully, I'm so excited to be "starting" at all that I'm finding it difficult to be terribly ashamed of not being perfect.  I'm thrilled to be surrounded by so many wonderful people who understand how much photography and family mean to me, and are ready to embark on this journey with me.

So here it is, flaws and all.  Hopefully you'll stick around to see this little seedling start to sprout!
